Calling the Glacier at the Open House Day of the Bavarian Academy of Sciences, 2017.

At the BAdW's Open House Day on May 20, 2017, the glacier working group presented itself strategically right at the academy's front door. In addition to a slide show of glacier photos and screen presentations of the individual work areas, there was a 'glacier in a shoebox' to look at and touch for those who were curious, big or small. In the lecture program, colleagues provided information about satellite observations and the retreat of glaciers, and Christoph Mayer answered questions from the audience at a scientists speed dating event.
