___Calling the Glacier________________________________Exhibitions

Exhibitions, Conferences, Installations etc.

Gradwanderung. Kunsthaus Kaufbeuren, 2009

The ice in Antarctica is melting, and glaciers are shrinking around the world. Landscapes are flooded. Storms devastate our earth. Global warming and excessive water consumption are drying out entire regions. Scientists are predicting these and similar scenarios as nature's response to climate change.

Various artists from Germany and abroad react to this in photographs, videos and installations, also in terms of content. In their works they archive landscapes that are still intact. They document the gradual process of change in nature or show the viewer the change that is already taking place. Others approach the subject scientifically; they reflect on the consumption of resources.

We would like to thank the German Aerospace Center in Oberpfaffenhofen, the Institute for Meteorology and Climate Research in Garmisch-Partenkirchen, the Max Plank Institute for Meteorology in Hamburg, and Prof. Günter Lang for providing us with scientific research results for the exhibition have asked.
