Calling the Glacier - Installation at the permanent exhibition "Ganz oben" in the Alpinarium Galtür, austria, since 2013.

The new permanent exhibition "Right at the Top" in the Alpinarium Galtür, Austria, opened in December 2013 setting Galtür in relation to the rest of the world. Where one locates the end, the beginning or the middle of the world is basically depending on perspective and the frame of reference. Does the valley end in Galtür, or does it begin right there? Is Galtür enthroned above the rest of the world, or is it just far away?

The exhibition illuminates different interpretations from a cultural-historical, philosophical and artistic point of view. Based on pairs of terms such as beginning and end, above and below, man and mountain, we illuminate the relationship between Galtür and the world in a narrative and visually powerful way and from different perspectives - temporal, spatial, spiritual, longing, internal, external, scientific and artistic. Themes condense in concentrated spheres like vitamin pills or cabinets of curiosities, works of art mix with thematic installations.

A flowing space with five thematic capsules structures the exhibition and invites you to stroll and discover. The exhibition room is filled with daylight, a curtain allows for views out and through connects the world inside the Alpinarium with the outside world. The various themed capsules differ greatly in their appearance from the space in between. Each of the capsules - or spheres - is staged differently on the inside and conveys a strong, unique atmosphere. The capsules are small, separate worlds.
